One of the top priorities of everyone today is staying beautiful.  Ads on TV, books, articles, newspapers and just about every other aspect is filled with advertisements about the “fountain of youth” and beauty secrets to fight the signs of aging. The Obagi System was designed to go beyond just temporarily fixing the signs of unhealthy skin.

The Obagi System was developed by dermatologists and is stronger than over the counter products. It is a very high quality product. The System contains 6 different steps to follow.  It is designed to correct underlying skin problems and also generate healthy, new skin cells to combat the signs of aging in addition to acne blemishes and make the skin appear glowing and resilient.

What does the System accomplish?

As we age, the cells break down due to environmental factors such as UV Rays, pollution, and other external factors. The Obagi System is designed to stimulate growth cells and in addition, help your skin build up a defense against these external, environmental factors.

How does the System work?

The system contains a six-step process that is relatively easy to learn. Each product has a step number on it and also shows whether it is to be used during the day or during the night. The Obagi System is formulated to accelerate cell turnover, reduce hyperpigmentation of the skin, and very importantly, increase collagen and elastin production. Everyone seems to be troubled by age spots and dark circles, which these products are intended to, eliminate age spots and dark circles.  In the end, your skin should be stronger and healthier.

Anyone can benefit from the use of Obagi. The Obagi System could be the solution for anyone who has issues such as damaged skin from the sun, fine lines or wrinkles, acne and acne scares, or overall wants a healthier more glowing complexion.

Before using any products, it is best to consult the advice of your dermatologist. If any redness or irritation occurs be sure to mention this to your doctor and adhere to their recommendations and advice.

Obagi Blue Peel Treatment

By Unknown

If you’re in search for a younger looking skin transformation, then you should consider the Obagi Blue Peel.

Developed by Dr. Zein Obagi, the Obagi Blue Peel is an aggressive treatment for advanced skin regeneration. It is one of the most effective methods of chemical peeling, and is considered a medium depth chemical peel treatment. It is similar to the TCA peel, as its main active component is trichloroacetic acid. The Obagi Blue Peel Nu Derm System, is also referred to as “blue peel”, “obagi peel”, and even “TCA peel”.

An advantage to the Obagi Blue Peel that doctors appreciate is that the treatment can be easily customized to each unique patient by controlling the depth of the peel. A blueish-green dye is combined with the cream mixture to indicate and aid the physician where the Blue Peel has not been administered.

A minor inconvenience of the blue peel is that after the paste like application, you literally look like a “blue smurf”. Fortunately, the residues of the blue peel remains and stains your skin only temporarily, quickly fading away.

The blue peel requires a number of returning visits, as it tends to be weaker than an absolute TCA peel. The non-painful treatments lasts for approximately 20 minutes, and it is recommended to be on the Obagi Nu Derm skin care regimen as a precursor to the peel.

The Obagi Blue Peel procedure helps to restore healthy, beautiful skin and can be found in almost every dermatologists and plastic surgeons office as part of their skin care arsenal.

Use Obagi Clear to effectively restore a younger, healthy looking skin.

i am 23 and still have bad acne. I have been on accutane 3 times and it helps while im on it then slowly the acne comes back, I have also used the Obagi skin care systems and I am currently undergoing chemical peel treatments. However I am curious what foods have high antioxidants to help my skin??? So anyone with any reccomendations on foods that might help me or any advice I would greatly appreciate it!

Garlic is really good for your skin. Drink a lot of water too, cuz it helps flush out the toxins. Dark chocolate actually has a lot of antioxidants in it too. As far as acne goes in general, i’ve had it for years too, mine hasn’t gone away. I’ve found that the kits do help a lot, like acnefree, clean and clear advantage. avon just came out with a new one called clearskin professional, and it works good. I kno this sounds stupid but you would be surprised how many people don’t do it. Just by do a skin care regimen twice a day would and should help. make sure that if you wear makeup you get the ones that don’t clog pores. I like covergirls clean makeup oil control, it’s for people with oily skin. and since acne is caused by bacteria, use a makeup sponge to apply makeup because your fingers have bacteria on them, and it could make your acne worse. I like oil control sheets as well. they don’t take off ur makeup or anything like that, just the excess oil that’s on your skin.

Good luck and I hope I helped!

I got a new Obagi skin care system for oily skin called "Clenziderm" and the lady on the phone said it makes skin worse before it gets better, but I havent read or heard that any where else.

Do you know?

The Clenziderm system’s active ingredients are 2% salicylic acid (SA) or 5% benzoyl peroxide (BP), depending on the product. There are many, many products on the market that contain these acne-fighting ingredients. Clenziderm’s are not that great as they contain unnecessary ingredients that can irritate the skin, like menthol (as well as the SA and BP being potentially irritating). Also there is no real need to use BP in such a high concentration: 2.5% BP does the same job of killing bacteria in your skin but with less irritation. Salicylic acid needs to be in an acid base with a pH of between 3 and 4 to work efficiently and Clenziderm do not give the pH of their products. They are gimmicky products and not that well-designed!

Please, please get the book Breaking Out by Lydia Preston, which will tell you all about salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, how they work on your skin, and how best to incorporate them into a skincare routine. Paula’s Choice make the most well-designed products I have found for fighting acne. If you find out about your skin and the acne medications available over-the-counter you will be able to make your own sound judgments instead of relying on sales staff who will tell you anything.

The book is invaluable for acne sufferers. I wish I had got it years ago. It could save you a lot of time, money and frustration.

Obagi Nu Derm; ?

Archived in the category: obagi system

I have been using the Obagi Nu Derm system for almost 4 weeks. I haven’t had much peeling, does that mean it’s not working? I have been using the .05 tretinoin every night with the blender. I am probably a little impatient but I haven’t seen much results. Any thoughts? should I use a higher tretinoin or use it more often or more of it?

What about Obagi C RX would that work better? I’m using it for Melasma, brown patches on the face.

i have been using these products for a year now. i use:

1. the gentle cleanser
2.toner
3.clear- which is for melasma
4.0.5 trentinion
i use these in the am and pm.

MOST IMPORTANTLY I HOPE YOUR USING A SUNBLOCK OF SPF 45+ WHEN USING THESE PRODUCTS!!!
you should be using CLEAR and if your skin is ok with 05. trentinion cream you could go a little stronger on it……….only use it once a day………………it does irritate the skin. maybe you want to keep the 0.5 which is for sensitive skin that’s why i’m using it. use it in the am and pm. hope i helped ya

I am currently considering getting a N-lite or IPL laser treatment (still need to find out which one I would choose) for my (hormonal imbalanced, stressed, damaged) helpless acne and scarred skin…
I was doing a lot of research on the internet, some are saying that laser treatment wouldn’t necessary work and this freaks me out cause I am seeing this as my last resort…

Also during the search I found the Obagi nu-derm product line. It sounds to my like a DIY chemcial peel, some said it need to be prescprited by doctors but I found out that you could just purchase in from the internet…

I was just wondering if I should give this product a try before splashing loads of cash on a laser treatment that might not necessary work…

sign…

Hi there!

YES you should give Obagi a try!
It really is an amazing line! The products are GREAT and do what they say.

You would want to try the Clenziderm line. That is the acne line. You can read about it here:

http://www.obagi.com/article/forskincarespecialists/obagiclenzidermmd/clenziderm.html

But you need to be seen by a doctor. It sounds like you might already be (the mention of the laser)

If you go to www.obagi.com on the front page you can type in your zip code and all the doctors in the area that carry Obagi will come up. You can call them and make an appointment.

If you have any more questions about the products or finding a doctor please feel free to contact me!

I have acne, not cystic, but rather more like clogged pores. My skin won’t exfoliate itself, and most exfoliants are too harsh for my skin. I have tried Proactiv, the Dr. Wexler program, Obagi Nu Derm, and nearly EVERY basic drugstore acne product to no relief. I have even had prescriptions for retin-A and antibiotics. Since I don’t have cystic acne, I am guessing the stronger prescriptions are not for me. I also have very sensitive skin and break out in welts if I use any products that are too strong or harsh (i.e. sulfur, glycolic acid, etc). Any suggestions?
I have seen a dermatologist and first he gave me antibiotics and retin-A. When that didn’t work I asked about Accutane and he said I wasn’t a good candidate. Time to get a new dermatologist?

Given the litany of products you’ve tried so far, I think it’s time to consult with a new dermatologist and stick with him to figure out the cause of your acne and how best to treat it.

umm.. idk! u should ask a doctor or someone that really knows. but i think that you do!
