what was your experience with this please? and i understand some flaking and peeling is to be expected- is this to the extent that during this period one cannot put on any make-up(foundation)? also how about the redness. was it really bad? thanks for answering.
No I have not.
A dermatologist could really answer your question though.
GOOD LUCK!

Skin Whitening & Acne

Skin Whitening & Acne
Chronic acne leaves some nasty acute scars and blemishes. Can whitening products fade this scarring? Pigmentations left from scars are very different from those of freckles; most acne scars are apparent and very superficial, while freckles are formed on a deep layer of skin.
Whether skin whiteners work depends on the type of acne the scar was formed by. Types of acne include closed comedo (whitehead), open comedo (blackhead), papule, pustule, cyst, or acne conglobata (on back, buttocks, and chest), and each type has a different type of scarring effect.
The two main categories of acne are inflammatory and noninflammatory acne. Noninflammatory acne includes blackheads and whiteheads, primarily differentiated by where the clogged pore is located. If it’s below the surface of the skin, it’s a whitehead, showing on the skin as small, whitish bumps. They are caused by an imbalance of oil and moisture on the skin, and tend to occur on dehydrated skin where oil is overactive in compensation for the lack of moisture in the skin. In the blackhead, the clogged pore has broken the surface of the skin. The dark appearance is caused by melanin, not dirt. Regular exfoliation will ease melanin buildup and reduce the appearance of blackheads.

I have been using Obagi for a few years now. Don’t know why it has taken this long; I’m usually more conscientious. I’ve now done more research and find that Obagi does animal testing. I’d like to find something else that I can feel better about using and still get decent results. Ads all promise results, but I’d like some personal recommendations.
Wow, I didn’t know Obagi did animal testing, now I’m kind of bummed at the fact that poor defenseless animals are being tested on. I can imagine the horror they go through everyday.
I don’t know of anything that works as good as Obagi because I have melasma. You should be posing this question to a Dermatologist because I will.
Anyway, in my early 30’s I was using Cetaphil then tried this aloe based product from Forever Living (based in Arizona), they have a skin care program titled, Aloe Fleur de Jouvence (Aloe Flower of Youth), which I did notice improvement, I bought the kit (box).
Then again, I was swimming 3x a week so I believe the chlorine helped the product along. I resided in S. California until the last 4 years, I now live in the Pacific Northwest and due to the lack of consistent sunny days, I began to get lighter which I believe revealed the sun damaged to my skin. It was pretty bad and I looked horrible.
Until I can find something that is comparable to Obagi that does not animal test and cost a lot less I will do it.
Sorry I could not help in answering your questions but if you are interested in the Forever Living products here’s the link.
Good Luck and I will star and watch your question for additional answers.

Do you use Obagi and what did it do for you? What did you use it for?
I go back Thursday for my 6 week check up and though the color of my skin is more even I still get acne though it goes away faster. And I still have red dots from acne like a beard. *sigh* I am also on medication. I was seeking help for acne, discoloration of the skin from acne and sun damage even though I am an avid sunblock wearer. I also have pitting but not as extreme as others I have seen. It is the acne that kills me. This has been going on for 8 years as an adult. I plan to get a microderm abrassion after my face has cleared but it isn’t quite clear yet and I use it failthfully morning and night regardless of how annoying it can seem at times. Somebody give me a whisper of hope that I am still in process. or am I just kidding myself?
one of the hard things about acne is that there’s so many products to try. i’ve probably tried like 20 different products, until i settled on a product called beautiful skin. it’s a whole regimen that, in my opinion, works better than proactiv.

I’ve been suffering with acne for soooo long and I’ve about had it….I’ve done so much but nothing really works. I used Proactive and it made it WORSE!!! Please help me with good suggestions. Nothing with over the counter products becasuse like I said, I’ve used it all! Thank you !
Do you have health insurance?
If so acne is covered, and you can go see a dermatologist who will check out your skin and get you on an prescription that will most likely be covered by your insurance. They you won’t have to pay too much out of pocket.
If you are having problems with acne and the traditional over the counter remedies are not working then it’s time to see a dermatologist who treats acne.
As far as clenziderm it’s stronger than proactive and could be more drying for your skin. I’d wait before you buy anything until you see a doc.
Good Luck
I don’t really understand your question, but I have been using Pro Activ for years and it works beautifully for me.
Has anyone used Obagi skin care products with Rosacea? How has it helped? Would you recomend it?
Yes, I love Obagi products. I’ve used them for 6 years with great results. I also have rosacea and in the beginning it did make the skin more irritated, but the results are well worth it in the long run.
Obagi products increase skin cell renewal cycle, thickens collagen, smooths skin texture, evens skin tone and removes unwanted pigmentation, as well as reducing excess oil and increasing hydration. It leaves your skin looking glowing, smooth and healthy. HTH : )
My face has been breaking out for 5 years now, and i have had it. My acne is very bad and it has stopped me from picking my head up in class to going out. I am popular in school but this has killed me. I know you are supposed to not listen to that crap but i feel the same way. I have tryed everything from cleant to clear proactiv Obagi clear skin and alot others but nothing seems to work. so what should i do?
This sounds weird but it works.
Take advil, crush it and add water to the powder for a pasty consistency.
put on the pimples.
there is a drying chemical in advil or asprin which really works
try it now thank me later
